BREAKING: Trey Murphy III, Larry Nance Jr. Status For Spurs-Pelicans, 12/1

The Pelicans could get a key team member back in action on Friday night versus the Spurs.

New Orleans, LA - The New Orleans Pelicans (10-9) will face the San Antonio Spurs (3-15) at the Smoothie King Center on Friday night.  After struggling with multiple injuries at the start of the season, the Pelicans are getting healthier as they prepare to face the Spurs.

Trey Murphy III is expected to make his season debut against San Antonio after recovering from a left knee meniscus injury sustained during an offseason workout, which required surgery.  The official injury report lists him as questionable for Friday's game versus the Spurs.

Trey Murphy III Working Out

His return to the lineup gives the Pelicans another scoring threat on the court. Last season, Murphy averaged 14.5 points on 40% shooting from the three-point line. He appeared in 79 total games and started 65 of those contests.

The Pelicans announced that Larry Nance Jr. will miss an additional 4-6 weeks due to a re-aggravated rib fracture. Nance Jr. has appeared in 14 games this year, averaging 3.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest. Losing a key bench player will test the Pelicans depth at the forward position. Expect backup center Cody Zeller to get additional minutes.
