Zion Williamson Addresses Injury Issues Head-On After Practice

Zion Williamson addressed his injury issues with the media after practice on Tuesday.

NEW ORLEANS- Fans of the New Orleans Pelicans finally got to hear from Zion Williamson after practice on Tuesday. One day before the Pelicans take on the Oklahoma City Thunder, Williamson went on record with the media to share his side of the situation.

Simply, “The shit sucks. I don’t know how else to say it. The shit sucks. I love this game...For those people who think I just want to sit on the sideline just to sit over there, I don’t know why people think that. Nah, it sucks. I just want to be playing basketball," Williamson admitted when opening the media session.

As far as trying to make a return for the NBA Play-In Tournament, Williamson said of the road back, "When I re-aggravated it back in February, it was tough. When I go to make certain moves, there is that hesitation...I understand the magnitude of these games coming up and I don’t want to be out there hesitating or doing something that may affect my team in a bad way," Williamson explained.

As for the fans who have missed the point during this process, “I can’t escape what the world thinks and what people’s opinions are.”

Williamson clarified, "When I go to make certain moves, there is that hesitation. Sometimes there's not and sometimes there is. And I understand the magnitude of these games coming up and I don't want to be out there hesitating or doing something that may affect my team in a bad way."

According to the All-Star directly, a possible playoff return all hinges on when Williamson "feels like Zion again."

"I can do pretty much everything. It's just a matter of the level that I was playing at before my hamstring. I'm just a competitor. I don't want to go out there and be in my own head and affect the team. I can just be on the sidelines supporting them more. I know myself. If I was to go out there, I would be in my head a lot. I would hesitate on certain moves and that could affect the game."
