Miami Heat Star Guard’s Injury Status vs. Pistons Revealed

The Miami Heat are heading into their matchup against the Detroit Pistons without Tyler Herro.

Searching for a third-straight win this week, the Detroit Pistons are set to take on the Miami Heat on Friday night. Based on the state of Miami’s injury report, the Pistons are set to face an undermanned squad.

Among the absences for the Heat on Friday is the star guard, Tyler Herro. Once again, Herro is ruled out for Miami, as he reportedly did not make the trip to Detroit. According to the Heat’s injury report, Herro is dealing with medial tendinitis in his foot.

The last time Herro appeared on the court was during the Heat’s road matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans. At the time, the veteran checked in for 30 minutes and produced 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists in an 11-point win for Miami.

In the following game, Herro was ruled out. Since then, he’s been on the side for the Heat, missing their last nine games. Friday’s outing will make it ten in a row.

The 2023-2024 NBA season has been difficult for Herro, as health has kept him off the floor for an extended period of time on multiple occasions at this point. After appearing in the first eight games of the season, Herro went out in early November and would miss 18 games before returning in late December.

The Heat were fortunate to have the former Sixth Man of the Year back in the mix, as he appeared in all but two of the Heat’s next 30 games. This season, Herro has produced 21 points per game on 44 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from the perimeter.

On Friday night, Miami approaches their Pistons undermanned and in a tough spot. Since they last paid a visit to the Pistons and picked up a win on March 5, the Heat haven’t won a game. Currently, amid a four-game losing streak, the Heat are looking to avoid dropping their 31st game of the year as they battle for a spot in the playoffs.
