The Sacramento Kings appear to have eyes on O.G. Anunoby this summer.

The Toronto Raptors forward is reportedly being “aggressively pursued” by the Kings, according to Damien Barling of ESPN 1320 in Sacramento. Sacramento had been loosely connected to Anunoby at the trade deadline, though it’s unclear if trade discussions ever progressed at the time.

Anunoby is coming off a career season in which he solidified himself as one of the league’s best 3-and-D forwards. He averaged 16.8 points per game while shooting 38.7% from behind the arc and earned second-team All-Defense honors for the first time in his career.

Multiple teams were reportedly interested in Anunoby at the trade deadline, but Toronto was reluctant to part with the soon-to-be 26-year-old forward. The Raptors were reportedly offered as many as three first-round picks for Anunoby.

The Kings own the 24th pick in this year’s draft as well as two seconds from Indiana and Dallas. They owe a lottery-protected first-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks next year and are therefore unable to trade a first-round pick outright until 2028. Following the draft, Sacramento could also offer their 2030 first-round pick in a trade.

Sacramento has multiple intriguing young players including the No. 4 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Keegan Murray. The 6-foot-8 forward shot 41.1% from behind the arc as a rookie last year.

Malik Monk and Davion Mitchell could both potentially interest the Raptors while Richaun Holmes’ $12 million for next season could be used as an additional contract.
