Rockets vs. Trail Blazers Summer League Preview: How to Watch, Lineups, More

The Houston Rockets will begin their five-game summer league schedule Friday evening against the Trail Blazers.

HOUSTON — The Houston Rockets will open the 2023 NBA Summer League tournament Friday evening against Scoot Henderson and the Portland Trail Blazers in Las Vegas.

The summer league contest inside the Thomas & Mack Center will mark the first of five games for the Rockets during the league's annual event.

Following their opening night contest against the Trail Blazers, the Rockets will then take on the Detroit Pistons (July 9), Oklahoma City Thunder (July 11), and Golden State Warriors (July 13).

The Rockets summer league roster will feature Tari Eason and Jabari Smith Jr. Each second-year prospect will be joined by Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore — who the Rockets acquired during the 2023 NBA Draft.

Last year, the Houston finished the summer league tournament with a 2-3 record. Former guard Josh Christopher led Houston in scoring, averaging 19.7 points on 40.0 percent shooting from the field.

Ime Udoka's lead assistant Ben Sullivan will serve as the Rockets' head coach during the Las Vegas Summer League tournament.
