Phoenix Suns, Chris Paul Focused on Winning at All Costs

In this story:
After the Phoenix Suns’ 119-115 victory against the Denver Nuggets last night, Chris Paul made it very clear what the priorities of the team are going forward.
Despite not being the prettiest of wins last night, all Paul is concerned about is that Phoenix secured a victory.
“On this run that we’re trying to have, it’s whatever it takes,” Paul said to Bally Sports Arizona after last night's game. “I don’t care what it look like, how many points, assists, whatever. Just win the game.”

Paul ended the night with 25 points, six rebounds and two assists. It's been a lackluster scoring year for Paul as he is currently averaging 13.9 points per game which is a career low for him.
Throughout his career, Paul has racked up many individual accolades but is yet to win an NBA championship. At 37-years-old, time is ticking for the veteran point guard.
This season could be Paul’s best opportunity yet to finally capture that elusive title he has so desperately coveted.
“We gonna see. We can always get better. I think for us, we set such a high bar for ourselves. We expect so much from ourselves, so when we have those lulls regardless of if it is our first game together, second game together, we expect greatness from each other. So we just have to keep getting better," he said in his postgame press conference.
Kevin Durant’s arrival to Phoenix certainly helps the Suns title chances. It also takes the pressure off of Paul who can now primarily focus on facilitating the basketball and being a leader for this team. Paul is still an elite passer and his veteran experience is second to none.
“It is very important; we just need CP (Chris Paul) to read the game like he always been reading it since he was in college or high school. Whatever the game tells him to do, he will go out there and do it," said Durant following the game.
"Tonight, he made seven threes, only two assists. We are so used to him getting close to double-digit assists every game. It is good when you are unpredictable and can switch attacks as a player. We going to need that going forward. Glad he is getting confidence to catch and shoot and knock down the shots while being aggressive to score.”
A championship under Paul’s name will put himself in the same conversations as the great point guards such as Magic Johnson and Steph Curry.
The two biggest threats on the Suns are Durant and Devin Booker, but don’t get it twisted: Paul will still have to play a huge role in the playoffs if Phoenix is to reach their ultimate goal of winning a title.
