Previewing Suns' Three-Game Home Slate

The Suns will host the Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs over the next three games.

The Phoenix Suns begin the first of a three-game home slate tonight after splitting their two road games to begin the regular season.

Phoenix first plays host to the Utah Jazz before hosting the San Antonio Spurs twice next week - here's what to watch for over the next week:

Status of Suns Duo

Devin Booker and Bradley Beal are both expected back... at some point.

Devin Booker and Bradley Beal are both expected back... at some point.

The Suns unfortunately are already dealing with injury concerns in the infant stages of the season. Bradley Beal has been dealing with a back issue for the better part of two weeks, but it appears as if he will make his Suns regular season debut in short order, according to PHNX.

Booker suffered what was being called a mid-foot sprain by NBA on TNT's Jared Greenberg, which was presumably suffered in Tuesday night's win in San Francisco. The belief is Booker will push hard to play in the home debut against Utah, but the most realistic date for his return is Halloween night against the San Antonio Spurs.

Suns fans should put things in perspective and try to bury any potential room for concern. This is simply the very best timing to deal with in-season injury issues, willing that there aren't many more problems as the season progresses.

Will There Be Any Rotation Tweaks?

Phoenix Suns forward Keita Bates-Diop (21) asks for help in the first half against the Portland Trail Blazers at Footprint Center.

Keita Bates-Diop has yet to play a minute for the Phoenix Suns

While the new coaching staff has appeared to be very adaptable in the early stages of the new season, the rotation has been one point of focus that hasn't been tinkered with yet.

Possibly the biggest surprise pertaining to the rotation so far is offseason signing Keita Bates-Diop not receiving a single second of playing time so far. Once considered a top candidate to take the final spot in the starting lineup, the versatile forward has seemingly played himself out of the rotation totally.

Preseason surprise Chimezie Metu also looks worthy to receive minutes at some point.

Those minutes may open up soon, depending on the coaching staff's opinion on recent acquisition Nassir Little. Little hasn't seen a ton of game time, but struggled mightily in the game against the Lakers.

It may be too early in the season to mess with a set rotation, but the potential switch-up is certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Wembanyama Mania Comes to Phoenix

San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama (1) comes down with a rebound in the first half against the Dallas Mavericks at the Frost Bank Center.

Victor Wembanyama will be coming to the Valley this week.

The 2023 number one overall pick and most hyped NBA prospect since LeBron James is making his only visit to Phoenix this season, as the Suns and San Antonio Spurs are set to play both Phoenix games in the next week.

If you're a Suns fan and want to get an in-person look at the generational talent out of France, this will be your only chance. Although the Spurs are an up-and-coming team that shouldn't be able to hang long with Phoenix, nothing can be taken for granted.

Wembanyama is a special talent and the Spurs have done a solid job of building the roster around the foundational piece.
