Pelicans' Zion Williamson Not Likely to Play vs. Suns, per Report

The Phoenix Suns may not see Zion Williamson on the other end of the court tonight, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Phoenix Suns are just hours away from hosting the New Orleans Pelicans, and plenty of fans are ready for the return of top draft pick Zion Williamson.

However, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports he may not be serviceable at the Footprint Center after suffering a hip contusion last weekend:

"Zion Williamson went through the Pelicans' shootaround this morning. While he's still a game-time decision against Phoenix tonight, there's a real likelihood that his return may wait until Sunday when New Orleans heads out on the road, they start with the Clippers. So Zion Williamson I think will get back out there pre-game tonight, but a real possibility he may sit out one more game here before he rejoins this team."

Williamson has played in three games this season, averaging 22 points and 6.7 rebounds per game early on.

Both teams are 3-1 ahead of their meeting on Friday night. The Suns advanced past the Pelicans in the first round of the NBA playoffs last year in six games.
