The Phoenix Suns had some concerns heading into Friday night on both sides of the ball after their 132-100 beatdown from the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.

The Boston Celtics - sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings - were expected to easily handle Phoenix.

That wasn't quite the case.

The Suns emerged victorious in a 106-94 win over the Celtics to get back in the win column. They've now won their last seven-of-ten games.

With Devin Booker (groin) and Cam Johnson (knee management) out, the Suns were able to again rely on the scoring prowess of Mikal Bridges (25 points), who has now led Phoenix in points the last three games.

Oddly enough, Dario Saric was the only starter to finish with a positive +/- on the night.

Odd might be the best way to describe Boston's performance, The Celtics were the No. 2 scoring team heading into Friday night but finished with under 100 points at home for the first time since Dec. 18 vs. Orlando.

NBA All-Star starter Jayson Tatum shot an outstanding 3-of-15 from the field despite finishing with 20 points. Jaylen Brown paced Boston in scoring with 27 and Malcolm Brogdon came off the bench to score 12 of his own. The remaining five of the Celtics reserves combined for seven points.

The Suns led by as much as 20 in the win and paced action for most of the game. Their lead got cut down to two in some spots in the second half but Phoenix eventually pulled away.

The Suns move quickly to Indiana to battle Pacers tomorrow night for part two of their back-to-back.
