Trail Blazers News: Portland Fills 2-Way Vacancy With Familiar Face

He's back!

Following the elevation of center Duop Reath from a two-way deal to your Portland Trail Blazers' standard 15-man roster, the club had an opening among their three two-way spots.

The Blazers announced in a press release via their official website that Portland has reunited with a recent pal to try out in the post-Reath vacancy, as the team is inking 24-year-old point guard Ashton Hagans to a deal.

Hagans, who signed a 10-day agreement with Portland at a prior point this month, appearing in four contests (albeit in limited minutes). He even started one game! The 6'3" Kentucky product posted averages of 2.8 points on 46.2% field goal shooting, 1.8 assists, 1.3 boards and 15 minutes a bout.

After going undrafted out of Kentucky in 2020, he spent most of his time within the NBA G League. He did previously ink a two-way agreement with the Minnesota Timberwolves, appearing in just two contests. He was cut by the club after he reportedly violated Minnesota's COVID-19 protocols.

He has since suited up for the G League affiliates of the Toronto Raptors (Raptors 905), Indiana Pacers (the then-Fort Wayne Mad Ants) and the Greensboro swarm prior to his latest gig.

Hagans will join small forward Justin Minaya and center Ibou Badji in the team's two-way slots.
