Teven Jenkins' Missed Games Adding Up

The Bears will be without guard Teven Jenkins due to a concussion and two other key offensive player are questionable for Sunday's Cardinals game.

The Bears will be without guard Teven Jenkins and possibly two other key offensive players on Sunday when they host the Arizona Cardinals.

Jenkins remains in the NFL concussion protocol and has been ruled out.

Jenkins played six games in 2021 due to a back injury, missed four more games in 2022 due to injuries and this year has missed five games. His contract expires after the 2024 season.

Coach Matt Eberflus said Jenkins had seemed close to getting through the protocol this week, but concussions can be trick.

"There have been guys that you thought were close and you thought were going to make it, but then they have that concussion protocol for a reason," Eberflus said. "There’s steps to it. That’s so important that we do it that way, because the guy has to be totally healthy in regards to the head injury before he can come back."

It seemed Jenkins fit this classification.

"You know Teven seemed fine," Eberflus said. "He was good and he's in great spirits and he's right on point, but again, he went through one of the tests and didn't pass. But that's OK, we'll see where it is next week."

Another offensive player whose status is in question is tight end Cole Kmet, although the Bears are a bit more hopeful here. Kmet kept on practicing despite a quad injury, although it was only on a limited basis Friday and Thursday. He is listed questionable.

The othere Bears injury concerns are running back D'Onta Foreman, who missed practice Thursday and was limited Friday for what was described as a personal reason. Foreman is questionable.

Also questionable is special teams player and reserve back Travis Homer with a hamstring injury.

Linebacker Noah Sewell (knee) and wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) are both out but have been out of the last three games and all practices with injuries.

The Cardinals have three players ruled out, including their leading wide receiver, Marquise Brown, with a heel injury. Cornerback Bobby Price (quad) and cornerback Garrett Williams (knee) are also out

Safety Andre Chachere (shoulder), linebacker Victor Dimukeje (foot), wide receiver Greg Dortch (shoulder), and cornerback Antonio Hamilton (calf) are questionable.
