Broncos Officially Awarded 29th Overall Pick in 2023 Draft

Via San Francisco.

The Denver Broncos are on the clock.

After the 49ers' loss to the Eagles in Sunday's NFC Championship Game, the Broncos officially secured the No. 29 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft — their latest Day One selection since 2014.

Denver did not own its original first-round choice after surrendering the capital in last March's blockbuster Russell Wilson trade. Which the team was able to recoup in November by dealing outside linebacker Bradley Chubb to Miami. The package included San Francisco's top pick, a 2024 fourth-rounder, and running back Chase Edmonds in exchange for Chubb and a 2025 fifth-rounder.

"The draft value we received was significant," general manager George Paton said on Nov. 1. "We just felt it was too good to pass up at the end of the day and it's no secret, we need picks. It's going to help us continue to build our football team."

As of this writing, the Broncos hold seven total picks — Nos. 29, 68, 69, 108, 140, 194, and 247 — with needs littering the roster, particularly along the offensive and defensive lines.

The 2023 Draft is scheduled to run from April 27-29 at Union Station in Kansas City.
