The Cleveland Browns have announced that offensive lineman Drew Forbes is returning from the injured reserve. This marks as the first of two possible returns from the IR for Cleveland.

Drew Forbes started one preseason game and was injured in the finale against the Detroit Lions, a knee injury. October 24th marked the day that the rookie was available to return, the Browns made that move today.

Forbes is a sixth round pick in last year’s NFL Draft out of Southeast Missouri State.

On the other end of this move, Cleveland made room for Forbes by waiving second year wide receiver Antonio Callaway. Callaway was inactive last week after showing up late to the game, a disciplinary action.

It appears that was the final straw for the former Florida Gator who already had served a four game suspension this season and seen trouble his rookie year as well. Antonio Callaway has played in four games this season, totaling just eight catches and 89 yards. As a rookie Callaway had an up and down season with 586 yards and five touchdowns. John Dorsey making a statement with this move that unreliable talent doesn’t stand over off field problems, at least in this case.

With the cutting of Antonio Callaway, it’s now that much easier to play Rashard Higgins. Higgins had a huge touchdown catch last week in the final minutes and should now take snaps as the teams third receiver.

Per Ian Rapoport, Antonio Callaway is appealing a 10 game suspension for violation of NFL’s substance abuse policy. Easy to see why the Browns cut him now.
