Source: Mike Harley Jr. Not Expected To Remain With Browns

Wide receiver Mike Harley Jr. is expected to have a new home soon after being waived Tuesday by the Cleveland Browns and going unclaimed on waivers.

Mike Harley Jr. is not expected to join Cleveland's practice squad and will be headed elsewhere in the near future.

Harley has a market right now and has a handful of different options around the league.

Cleveland really likes Harley, however, is going to get a change of scenery with the Browns signing Austin Watkins Jr. and Jaelon Darden to their practice squad already.

Harley was impressive this offseason and had several highlight moments in training camp and in the preseason, including catching a 20-yard touchdown from Kellen Mond during the Browns preseason matchup with the Washington Commanders.

Harley is a talented receiver but Cleveland's crowded wide receiver room is seemingly giving him no choice but to sign elsewhere.

Harley signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of in 2022 and remained on the teams practice squad all of last season. The former Miami Hurricane is the program’s all-time receptions leader and had a collegiate career with 182 receptions, 2,158 yards and 15 touchdowns, which moved him past legendary wide receiver Reggie Wayne for the career catch mark.

This offseason, the Browns revamped their wide receiver room through free agency, the NFL draft and via the trade market.

First, the Browns acquired former Jets receiver Elijah Moore, whom the Browns are extremely excited to get involved in their offense.

Through free agency, Cleveland signed speedster Marquise Goodwin, who missed the preseason with blood clots but has since officially returned to the team.

Then, through the NFL draft, the Browns selected Cedric Tillman with their third-round pick.

With that said, Harley will have the opportunity to shine elsewhere with a change of scenery.
