Already down the linebackers against the Carolina Panthers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost another one. Back up K.J. Britt was thrust into action due to injuries to Lavonte David and Devin White and an Illness to rookie SirVocea Dennis. On the Bucs defense's second outing on the field, Britt went down with injury. He was slow to get up and needed the assistance of trainers.

Britt spent the remainder of the drive under the blue medical tent before a cart came out to bring him back to the locker room. Strong safety Ryan Neal took his place next to second year linebacker J.J. Russell, who is making his first NFL start.

The Buccaneers announced that Britt is dealing with a back injury and has been ruled out to return to the game. Neal will likely remain in his place at linebacker. Neal has struggled at strong safety this season and has seen his snaps cut into significantly by Dee Delaney Kaevon Merriweather and Christian Izien. The Bucs are hoping to get more out of him at linebacker.

Britt entered the league as a fifth round pick in 2021 of the Buccaneers. He's played primarily on special teams but has 33 career tackles on defense. Britt wears the green dot on defense and calls the plays in the huddle.
