Pass Rusher Named Perfect Fit for Cardinals

The Cardinals could add this pass rusher to the mix.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals still have some holes to fill as the 2024 NFL Draft arrives, and Bleacher Report has the perfect fit in free agent edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue:

"While Ngakoue has never been a good run defender and wouldn't necessarily be a starter in Arizona, the team's defense could use some pass-rush help which is his specialty. The veteran edge defender had a career-low four sacks last season but is only two years removed from a 9.5-sack campaign and could be a good mentor for B.J. Ojulari," wrote Matt Holder.

The Cardinals indeed need help in the pass-rush category, as Arizona's 33 team sacks last season was the least they had in the last decade and ranked just 30th in the NFL.

Ngakoue just turned 29 and initially entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Ngakoue has pieced together double digit sack seasons twice in his career and has a Pro Bowl to his name.

Arizona beefed up their defensive line with Bilal Nichols and Justin Jones in free agency while the Cardinals also added Mack Wilson (who can play EDGE or ILB) and CB Sean Murphy-Bunting.

The Cardinals have $18.1 million in effective cap space according to OverTheCap.
