Cardinals Meeting Again With Top WR Prospect

The Arizona Cardinals are taking a Top 30 visit with LSU WR Malik Nabers.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are hosting LSU WR Malik Nabers on a Top 30 visit today, according to NFL insider Cameron Wolfe.

"LSU WR Malik Nabers is visiting Arizona Cardinals on predraft 30 today & goes to Chargers tomorrow, per sources. Nabers, considered WR1 by multiple teams, got rave reviews on pro day testing/showing. Nabers visited Giants before pro day. Teams picking 4, 5 & 6 1st to have him in," he reported on Twitter/X.

The Cardinals previously met with Nabers after his Pro Day workout, too.

Nabers is considered to be one of the top three wide receiver prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft, along with Marvin Harrison Jr. and Rome Odunze. The Cardinals have met with all three as the draft nears closer with each day.

Arizona has a glaring need at wide receiver after Marquise Brown and Rondale Moore departed in recent weeks. As of now, the team's top wideouts consist of Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch - two good receivers in their own respect, but Kyler Murray will need another legitimate option moving into 2024.

The Cardinals currently hold the No. 4 pick in the 2024 draft, one of eleven selections Arizona possesses. The team could potentially look to move back in the first round, though they also hold the No. 27 pick and six total selections in the first three rounds.

Nabers - though "smaller" in stature at 6-0, his NFL.com draft profile compares him to former LSU WR Justin Jefferson:

"Nabers is the next big thing coming out of LSU’s receiver room, with the pure explosiveness and talent to be mentioned in the same breath as former LSU stars starring in the league today. Despite a lack of polish and precision as a route-runner, Nabers’ gliding movements and speed alterations seem to disguise the top-end speed and separation potential that await opposing coverages. He’s a bouncy leaper with the athletic ability to make the impossible catches possible. He tucks away accurate throws and displays the toughness and play strength to fight for tight-window victories over the middle. Nabers will need to address his tendency to track and play deep throws with finesse, or his early advantages will turn into 50/50 battles. He can play all three receiver spots and has the profile to become a productive, high-volume target over all three levels as a potential WR1." - Lance Zierlein.

We'll see which top wideout the Cardinals could end up with once they finally make the pick, though it's clear Arizona is doing extensive homework on pass catchers.
