Analyst Selects Ideal Picks for Cardinals

The 2024 NFL Draft is nearly here - what direction should the Arizona Cardinals take?

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals have a plethora of different routes the organization can take when the 2024 NFL Draft (finally) rolls around on April 25, though it's a sure bet that general manager Monti Ossenfort will put their two first-round picks to good use.

Picks 4 and 27 are both considered to be candidates for trades, as speculation has driven for months of Arizona looking to move back early in the first while potentially make a jump with their later pick in the first round.

Regardless of how the dust settles, it's imperative the Cardinals walk away with some cornerstone players to further their rebuild.

NFL.com's Chad Reuter went through each team's ideal top two picks and named Marvin Harrison Jr. and Nate Wiggins as Arizona's coupled players to bring home:

"The Cardinals are in a great position to trade down for additional picks this year and next, but if they stay put, Harrison's playmaking ability would fit a need the team has had for some time. Wiggins' closing speed is special, as he's willing to fight receivers through the catch. His lean build will likely scare off some teams, but Arizona's desperate need for outside corners draws the team to him late in the first," wrote Reuter.

When it comes to Harrison, he's viewed as the best non-quarterback prospect in the draft and would immediately upgrade Arizona's arsenal of weapons for Kyler Murray. The floor is relatively high for Harrison, who would come in with some fairly high expectations from Day 1 but is easily talented enough to fulfill and perhaps surpass those.

Later in the draft is certainly a dice roll, though Wiggins is viewed as one of the top corners in the class. Arizona has a need for more talent at the position, and the Clemson product has the build and speed to become the Cardinals' top corner from training camp.

With six picks in the first round, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Arizona address both wide receiver and corner with multiple selections. The Cardinals could also look to add talent along the offensive or defensive line early on.
