Giants Sign Former Cardinals DL

Jordan Phillips is now with the New York Football Giants.

ARIZONA -- A familiar Arizona Cardinals name is now joining the New York Giants.

"The #Giants are signing veteran free agent DT Jordan Phillips today, source said. The former #Bills DT has some familiar faces in the NYG building," wrote Ian Rapoport on Twitter/X.

"A deal in the works for some time, NYG adds a key piece to their D-line prior to the draft."

Phillips - who will turn 32 this September - initially entered the league with the Miami Dolphins as a second-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Phillips was waived by Miami years later and claimed by the Buffalo Bills in 2018.

Two years later, the Cardinals inked Phillips to a three-year contract beginning in 2020. He was released in 2022 and spent the last two years in Buffalo for a second stint.

More from NYGiants.com on the signing:

"His career numbers include 181 tackles (36 for loss) and 24 sacks, including a personal-best 9.5 with the Bills in 2019. He also has 51 quarterback hits, 24 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one interception off Ryan Fitzpatrick during a win for the Dolphins over the Jets in 2016."

Phillips hasn't started more than 10 games in a season since 2017. Arizona paid Phillips $20+ million during his two years in the desert, where he played a combined 18 games.
