Cardinals Picked as Landing Spot for All-Pro WR

Chris Godwin was listed as a possible wideout for the Arizona Cardinals.

ARIZONA -- It's no secret the Arizona Cardinals need WR help ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Cardinals lost Marquise Brown to free agency while they traded Rondale Moore to the Atlanta Falcons for QB Desmond Ridder, exposing their wideout department to just Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch atop the list.

The team did manage to sign Chris Moore as a new addition, though more help is expected to arrive via next month's draft, where Arizona has two picks in the first round and six total through the first two days of the draft (rounds 1-3).

Yet the trade market also provides a unique opportunity for Arizona to upgrade their arsenal for QB Kyler Murray - CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin believes All-Pro WR Chris Godwin could be on the move around draft time, and listed Arizona as a potential destination.

"The Buccaneers have operated like a team focused entirely on the present, retaining Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, Lavonte David and Antoine Winfield Jr. in a classic "run-it-back" offseason. In that case, they may prefer Godwin to stick as a reliable, if unspectacular, starter. But he's entering the final year of an expensive deal, due a whopping $27.5 million in 2024, and Evans is commanding top dollar on his own new deal. Maybe they'd be open to replacing his role via the draft." - Benjamin

Godwin just turned 28-years-old and has recorded 1,000+yard seasons in each of the last four-of-five years. He's in the final year of his contract and has a base salary of $18.5 million in 2024.
