Cardinals Set to Host UCLA EDGE

The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly hosting one of the draft's best edge defenders.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are set to host UCLA edge defender Laiatu Latu this week, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.

"#UCLA edge Laiatu Latu, one of the draft's best pass rushers, is on a Top 30 visit to the #Vikings today, source said. He was with the #Bears yesterday and already met with the #Broncos, plus he has #AZCardinals tomorrow," Rapoport wrote on Twitter/X.

All Cardinals broke news earlier at the NFL Combine that Latu and the Cardinals had met in Indianapolis. Sources say Latu was enthusiastic at the idea of landing in Arizona.

Latu is considered to be one of the top edge defenders in this year's draft class, though his medical history has some believing he could slide down draft boards after nearly having to retire with a neck injury just a few years ago. Latu had neck fusion surgery and was initially advised to medically retire by the Washington football staff (per ESPN).

The first-team All-American could slide to the Cardinals at No. 27 in the first round. Arizona also has the No. 4 pick in the first round and six total in the first three rounds of action.

The Cardinals have been doing work on edge rushers at the top of the board, also reportedly hosting guys such as Penn State's Chop Robinson and Alabama's Dallas Turner on visits.

The 2024 NFL Draft begins on April 25.
