Former Cardinals LB Named Best 'Bargain' in Free Agency

Markus Golden is one of the best bargain players on the market according to Bleacher Report.

ARIZONA -- Former Arizona Cardinals LB Markus Golden is available on the open market for any team to sign him, and Bleacher Report believes he'll be quite effective compared to his potential contract.

Golden - affectionately nicknamed "Junk" - departed the Cardinals for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023 and again finds himself in search of a new squad.

"Bargains don't need to become surprise every-down stars," wrote David Kenyon.

"The best production of Markus Golden's career is likely in the past, yet he can still be an effective pass-rusher.

"Last season, he only played 22 percent of snaps in Pittsburgh. He managed four sacks—and a fifth in the postseason—showing he can offer valuable depth at a particularly vital position.

"Now, the main question is whether Golden wants to prioritize playing time or a playoff run. If the former, the Denver Broncos are an appealing spot; if the latter, the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins are among the several landing spots that make sense.

"Consider it a suspicion that the 33-year-old—one with four career playoff games—will be eyeing a Super Bowl."

Golden - who just turned 33 - is likely in search of a ring after playing for organizations such as Arizona and the New York Giants. With nearly $23 million in career earnings (via Spotrac) a championship would pair nicely with his 50+ career sacks.

B/R projects him to ink a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the Dolphins.
