Cardinals to Host Kentucky RB

The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly meeting with Kentucky RB Ray Davis.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly set to meet with Kentucky RB Ray Davis, according to NFL insider Aaron Wilson on Twitter/X.

"Kentucky running back Ray Davis visited #Packers #Falcons #Texans #Broncos has upcoming #Cardinals visit"

The Cardinals currently have James Conner as their RB1 but could use more reinforcements behind him. Arizona brought in DeeJay Dallas (though he primarily is a special teams ace) with Michael Carter and Emari Demercado still in the fold, too.

More on the Kentucky running back:

"Davis is one of the highest-ranked running back draft prospects and is regarded as a three-down, all-around back due to his pass-catching skills, elusiveness and ability to break tackles," wrote Wilson.

"In his lone season at Kentucky, Davis had 199 carries for 1,129 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns last season for the Wildcats, averaging 5.7 yards per carry. He also caught 33 passes for 323 yards and seven touchdowns. He had 280 rushing yards in a 33-14 victory over the Florida Gators as he scored four touchdowns, including a 75-yard score, as he averaged 10.8 yards per run on 26 carries. He had 21 total touchdowns, setting a single-season school record."

As of now, Davis could be taken as high as a third-round selection. The Cardinals have six picks in the first three rounds with 11 total over draft weekend.

Arizona has also met with Washington RB Dillon Johnson during the pre-draft process.

The 2024 NFL Draft begins on April 25.
