Cardinals Most Likely to Trade for Non-QB in Draft

The Arizona Cardinals are in prime position to wheel-and-deal.

ARIZONA -- The 2024 NFL Draft could look very similar to last year for the Arizona Cardinals.

2023 saw the Cardinals move from a top-five pick down out of the top ten, before jumping back into the mix just a few selections later to get their guy in Paris Johnson Jr. at No. 6.

2024 has potential to be a copy-and-paste of that exact plan, though you could swap Johnson out for any of the top three receivers in Rome Odunze, Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers - all of whom have met/will meet with the Cardinals ahead of the draft on Top 30 visits.

We're not the only ones believing Ossenfort will make a move up the draft board for a wideout, as ESPN's Jordan Reid recently dubbed the Cardinals as the team mostly likely to trade up for a non-quarterback in the first round:

"One thing we know about GM Monti Ossenfort is that he enjoys wheeling and dealing on draft day. The Cardinals are tied for the most draft picks (11), and after trading back from No. 3 and then trading back up to the No. 6 spot last year, I believe Ossenfort will be aggressive again," Reid said.

"With two first round picks, Arizona could explore trade-up options from the 27th overall pick, as the team needs help at corner, at wide receiver and in the trenches. But also watch for the Cardinals to entertain trade-back scenarios from No. 4, and then perhaps use those assets to trade up from No. 27 (or move around in later rounds)."

If the Cardinals move back from No. 4 and stay, it is possible Arizona could use their bevy of draft capital to make another move up the board for a pass catcher. The Cardinals simply have ample ammo to make something happen whenever they choose.

It'll be interesting to see how Ossenfort manuevers the draft board - if at all - when the Cardinals are on the clock.
