Cardinals Most Overpaid Player Revealed

It's no surprise to see who Bleacher Report picked as the Arizona Cardinals' most overpaid player.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are in year two of a rebuild under Monti Ossenfort, and while there's been plenty of change under the new regime, there's been a few identifiable faces that are sure to stick around for the future.

Despite public perception, Kyler Murray is indeed one of those players.

Cardinals brass has been more than adamant that Murray is their guy moving forward, though his massive five-year, $230.5 million extension kicks in this season.

Murray was bound to have the highest cap hit moving into next season, though Arizona hitting the reset button and clearing out some fairly big names over the last two offseasons ensured he qualified for the "most overpaid" title in Bleacher Report's article:

"There's still hope for the talented Murray. He's not egregiously overpaid as a young and highly skilled quarterback, but there aren't many options in Arizona and we're still talking about a guy who has been a part of just 28 wins in five seasons yet is the fifth-highest-paid player in the league," wrote Brad Gagnon.

Murray's $49.1 million cap hit tops Arizona's 2024 salary cap table on Spotrac with Budda Baker ($19 million) and Jalen Thompson ($12.46 million) as the only others making over $9 million.

D.J. Humphries' $22.8 million cap hit is still on the books but that will drop after June 1.
