Cardinals Could Trade With Steelers

The Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers could do business on draft night.

ARIZONA -- All trade talk surrounding the Arizona Cardinals ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft sits at No. 4, and rightfully so.

Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort will have a monumental decision to make when Arizona is on the clock, as the organization could eye somebody like Marvin Harrison Jr. or decide to trade down for a plethora of picks.

While trading down is an option for their first pick, Arizona's second first-rounder at No. 27 could be a prime spot for the organization to trade up and snag a talent at cornerback, according to ESPN's Jordan Reid.

"It shouldn't come as a surprise if Arizona gets aggressive and attempts to move up from No. 27 for a cornerback on Day 1," he wrote.

"Murphy-Bunting is more of a CB2. There's a glaring need for a high-upside CB1, and Nate Wiggins (Clemson) and Kool-Aid McKinstry (Alabama) could be Day 1 options for a roster still in the talent collection portion of its rebuild."

Pittsburgh Steelers insider Noah Strackbein believes the Cardinals could be a prime trade-back spot for Pittsburgh, who currently owns the No. 20 spot:

"The Steelers sit in a prime spot to make a move with, but would dropping all the way to the second-round be too much? If Arizona is looking for a cornerback, they should have options at 20. Terrion Arnold, Nate Wiggins, McKinstry, and maybe Cooper DeJean could be available with the selection," said Strackbein.

"Meanwhile, the Steelers could move back and still select their top position of need - a center. With Graham Barton being the only player almost certainly viewed as a first-round pick, Pittsburgh could choose from Jackson Powers-Johnson and Zach Frazier in the second round, all while adding another pick deeper in the draft.

"The rumored Bills trade added a second-round selection to the Steelers' draft board. With Arizona, it might be a third or fourth. Still, it could be a move Pittsburgh considers if they want more picks and don't have a player they're locked in on at No. 20."

The Cardinals have six picks in the first three rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft, which begins on April 25.
