Cardinals Listed as Top Trade-Down Candidate

B/R says the Arizona Cardinals are primed to move down in the 2024 draft.

ARIZONA -- We're officially in draft month, and the Arizona Cardinals hold the keys to what many believe is the first true wild card pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With quarterbacks expected to go 1-2-3 ahead of Arizona, the Cardinals' No. 4 pick has a variety of routes and results that could sway the entire rest of the first round.

After moving back last year, Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort is primed to do the same again if the right offer comes along.

Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton placed Arizona as one of the top candidates to trade down in the first round of the draft.

"Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon hasn't wavered in his support for quarterback Kyler Murray. However, Arizona must upgrade the talent around him," wrote Moton.

"The Cardinals need wide receivers and help across the offensive line, specifically on the interior. They should also add a pass-rusher after finishing with the second-lowest pressure rate (17.1) in 2023.

"Last year, in general manager Monti Ossenfort's first offseason with the team, the Cardinals moved down from No. 3 to the 12th spot and then moved back up to No. 6 to take offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr.

"During a news conference, Ossenfort said the Cardinals will be "listening" to offers for the No. 4 pick, which potentially opens up an opportunity for the Vikings or any other team to make a move.

"The Cardinals would likely miss out on wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. if they move back.

"On the flip side, if Arizona acquires the Minnesota Vikings' two 2024 first-rounders, the club would have three first-round picks (Nos. 11, 23 and 27) to address multiple priority needs on Day 1 of the draft."

Potential teams the Cardinals could move down with are the Vikings, Denver Broncos and New York Giants - all teams looking for their next quarterback of the future.

Arizona currently has two first-round picks with six selections in the first two days of the draft.
