How to Describe Cardinals Offseason So Far

The Arizona Cardinals are finalizing their free agency plans - here's how to describe their offseason so far.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are putting the finishing touches on their free agency haul with the 2024 NFL Draft one month away.

In some aspects, the Cardinals have been quiet. They didn't land any of the big names in free agency despite walking into 2024 with a lofty amount of spending power. Names such as Christian Wilkins and L'Jarius Sneed didn't ultimately land in the desert - though that doesn't mean the Cardinals were unproductive.

Rather, Arizona general manager Monti Ossenfort opted for a different approach. targeting more of the "under the radar" guys to fill spots across the roster.

Bleacher Report recently went through each team's offseason and described it with one word.

For Arizona? Discipline.

"Despite having plenty of cap space, the Cards have approached free agency like they know it isn't an overnight cure for a bad roster. They're biding their time because they also know they won't likely contend in 2024. The restraint is admirable," wrote Brad Gagnon.

Arizona has kept a fairly realistic approach to their free agency spending - and like Gagnon addressed - the organization is fully aware they're not finished with their rebuild.

The Cardinals have been fairly adamant they will build their roster through the 2024 NFL Draft, which could include dealing the No. 4 overall pick.

"There'll be a big neon sign that says open - I don't like it blinking, that kind of messes with my eyes," Ossenfort joked when speaking with reporters.

"But yeah, we're always going to be listening. We'll always have the conversation - we may not get to a point where the deal makes sense, whether it's at four or anywhere we're picking, but we're always going to have the conversation. If it makes sense and if it's attractive to building our team, then it's something that we'll certainly consider no matter where we're at in the draft."
