Cardinals Insider Denies Major WR Splash Coming

The Arizona Cardinals won't pull the trigger on a deal for a massive receiver, according to John Gambadoro.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals aren't likely to pursue names such as Justin Jefferson or Tee Higgins on the trade market, according to Arizona Sports insider John Gambadoro.

When asked by a fan on Twitter/X if a recent report connecting the Cardinals to Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson was true, Gambo responded with:

"No it is HIGHLY unlikely they would be trading for Tee Higgins or Justin Jefferson. Not only would a team have to give up a high draft pick to get one then they would have to pay them top $$$. Great players but not happening. This team will build the right way through the draft."

The Cardinals are in massive need of a legitimate WR1 after the departure of Marquise Brown in free agency, though Arizona were heavy favorites to add to their room regardless of Hollywood came back to the desert.

As of now, top names on the depth chart include Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch - two solid names for sure, though the Cardinals are all but set to take a top wideout at some point in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Arizona also lost WR Rondale Moore in their trade with the Atlanta Falcons, which brought QB Desmond Ridder to Arizona.

Jefferson and Higgins would cost the Cardinals in terms of both draft capital and cap space, something Arizona isn't exactly in position to do as year two of their rebuild approaches.
