Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker has requested a trade, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.

The trade request comes less than 24 hours after he removed the Cardinals from his Twitter bio and tweeted the following:

It's unknown exactly why Baker is unhappy with the team, though reporters such as ESPN's Josh Weinfuss and Compare.bet's Kyle Odegard have stated Baker has been upset with the team.

Baker (27) has two years left on his current deal.

The Cardinals entered a rebuilding stage this offseason after firing Kliff Kingsbury and seeing Steve Keim step down. In free agency, the team lost crucial defensive pieces such as Byron Murphy and Zach Allen on top of watching J.J. Watt hit retirement.

Arizona has also found themselves in negative press throughout the entire offseason, whether it be the negative NFLPA report cards or recent accusations against owner Michael Bidwill of cheating and creating a toxic work environment.

Baker - a multiple time Pro Bowl and All-Pro player - would immediately elevate any defense he steps upon.

Should the Cardinals grant the trade request, he will join DeAndre Hopkins on the trade block. Both are well respected by fans and both figure to want to win a ring after that window has clearly closed here in the desert.

We're less than two weeks away from the 2023 NFL Draft, where the Cardinals currently possess the No. 3 overall pick.
