Jimmy G Heads Back to NFC West

The Arizona Cardinals will see Jimmy Garoppolo back in the division.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals will see a familiar face in 2024.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is heading to the Los Angeles Rams on a one-year deal according to NFL insiders Mike Garafolo and Peter Schrager.

Garoppolo is heading back to the NFC West after spending one season with the Las Vegas Raiders. Garoppolo initially signed a three-year, $67.5 million deal with the Raiders last offseason before being benched halfway through the year.

Garoppolo started six games for Vegas before being released just days ago. He was suspended by the NFL for two games after violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

The Rams now have their to backup Matthew Stafford for 2024.

Garoppolo first entered the league as a second-round pick in 2014 by the New England Patriots, who he won two Super Bowls with before being traded to the San Francisco 49ers.

Garoppolo found success in San Francisco - narrowly winning a Lombardi with the 49ers - though the organization decided to move on with Brock Purdy and Trey Lance previously in the mix.

He has a 4-2 record against the Cardinals with all but one matchup coming with the 49ers. Garoppolo recently turned 32-years-old back in November and hopes to turn a fresh leaf with Sean McVay in Los Angeles.
