Chargers Injury Report: Broncos Right Guard Lingers In LA With Heart Condition

Broncos right guard stayed in LA as a precaution.

In what was a scary scene as Broncos right guard Quinn Meinerz left in the middle of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers due to feeling chest tightness, and the right guard stayed in LA on Sunday night for further evaluation.

According to Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post, Meinerz was transported to a local hospital last night and stayed as a precaution rather than flying home with the team.

There was no immediate update following the game on Meinerz's condition but head coach Sean Payton added that he was not feeling ill before the game and that he should be okay.

“Our training staff, starting with Beau (Lowery) and Vince (Garcia) do a great job making sure everybody’s OK,” quarterback Russell Wilson said. “From my understanding, (Meinerz) will be alright.”

Following the injury, Broncos center Lloyd Cushenberry went on to say that losing Meinerz was tough on the team.

“It’s tough losing Quinn. That’s, in my opinion, the heart and soul of our line,” center Lloyd Cushenberry said. “We’re going to miss him if he has to be out.”

While Meinerz was reported to have stayed overnight in LA, Zac Stevens of DNVR later reported that he had been cleared to leave and would return home today.
