Chargers Could Sign Newly Released Pro Bowl RB

Should they go for it?

Your Los Angeles Chargers are in serious need of snagging a run game upgrade.

Now, a slick new prospect to help them do just that has hit the market.

Per Ian Rapoport and Tom Peliseero of the NFL Network, the Green Bay Packers have just released running back Aaron Jones, making the ex-Pro Bowler a free agent.

Jones would be an intriguing veteran addition to abet Pro Bowl Bolts quarterback Justin Herbert and improve the club's overall ground game.

Across 11 contests for Green Bay last fall, the 29-year-old out of UT - El Paso rushed for 656 total yards and two touchdowns on 142 attempts.

He also snagged 30 receptions on 43 passing attempts for 233 total receiving yards.

With LA’s top 2023 running back Austin Ekeler now departing for the Washington Commanders, it’s clear that general manager Joe Hortiz is looking to revamp its options at the position. An old Hortiz pal on the Baltimore Evans, Gus Edwards, is already on board for the new-look Chargers.
