Chargers News: Bolts Begin GM Search With Buffalo Bills Executive

Can he help the Chargers turn it around?

Your Los Angeles Chargers' offseason will begin with their signings of a new head coach and general manager. A number of names has already popped up for both openings.

The list of potential coaches includes the likes of Jim Harbaugh, Dan Quinn, Ben Johnson, and more, while the GM list features the likes of New York Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown, among a new name that has recently been released, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network:

Terrance Gray has been in the NFL for over 20 years, spending a number of seasons as a college scout for the Minnesota Vikings prior to joining the Bills in 2017. He has experience working as a scout, in player personnel, player development, and in the NFL league office, being involved with the NFL's Continuing Education Program.

Having been with the Bills since 2017, he's presumably played a big role in the team's turnaround and building of a perennial Super Bowl contender, starting with the decision to draft Josh Allen back in 2018, followed by the acquisition of Stefon Diggs, among other key moves.

Gray is set to become a hot commodity around the league, with multiple teams including the Las Vegas Raiders requesting interviews with him. With few GM vacancies around the league, Gray being sought after certainly reinforces his competency.

The Chargers and Bills are strangely similar as it pertains to roster construction, with aging defenses but young, high-powered offenses led by generational talents at quarterback. The formula Buffalo followed to put themselves in the position they've been in for the past few seasons is one that the Bolts can easily follow, so expect Gray's experience assisting that charge to highlight his candidacy for the Bolts' opening.
