Chargers News: Jim Harbaugh Effect in Full Swing During Upcoming NFL Draft

The Harbaugh effect continues.

The NFL Scouting Combine begins on Monday, where many of the top prospects coming out of college football this offseason will get the chance to impress NFL scouts ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.

There will be quite a few former Jim Harbaugh-coached players from Michigan at the combine. Eighteen different Michigan Wolverines are headed to the combine, which is a record for a single college football program.

Even though not all of these players are top prospects, they do reflect the quality of coaching from their former head coach, Jim Harbaugh. NFL draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah broke down how Harbaugh's players stand out through the draft process.

"It's nice as a scout when you can put those things to bed in the evaluation and focus on the tape and what you see. It's almost become kind of a given that if you get a Michigan guy, you're going to get somebody who's been well-coached, can take hard coaching, he's smart and he's tough. Now, let's go about figuring out if he can play.

"That's something that they developed there, they've developed in that toughness, they've developed in that kind of smart football player with a good knowledge of the game.

This is great news for the Los Angeles Chargers. While the Chargers already knew they were getting an experienced, successful and quality coach in Harbaugh, this is another example to back that up.

Though the Chargers finished just 5-12 in 2023, they know they have talent on their roster. If Harbaugh can work his magic on the Chargers as he has with every other stop, the Chargers will be a top worst-first candidate in 2024.
