Chargers News: NFC South Squad Hosting Mike Williams For a Visit Next Week

The worst team in the NFL last season is looking for some reinforcements in 2024.

Former Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams is garnering a ton of attention since his release from the Bolts earlier this week.

Although he is coming off a torn ACL, he is still a hot commodity on the open market, so much so that he will visit the NFC South team, the Carolina Panthers.

Panthers team insider MIke Kaye says the team will host Williams on a visit next week.

The Bolts decided to cut ties with Williams before the official start of free agency. It certainly was not a surprise that the team decided to move on. Nonetheless, it was a devasting moment for the team and its fans.

The 29-year-old tore his ACL in Week 3 of the 2023 season against the Minnesota Vikings. He was on the verge of an extraordinary season until that knee injury ended things for the talented receiver and was a sign of things to come for the Bolts.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Chargers aren't ruling out a return.

The Bolts are not ruling out a return, and we'll see if Williams is open to it. In the meantime, he will do his due diligence as a free agent. We'll see if he finds a new home for the 2024 season, like Carolina, or possibly comes back to don the powder blue for eight consecutive seasons.
