Chargers News: Timeline Established For Arrival Of LA DC

When will he touch down?

Former Michigan Wolverines defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who'll be joining his old boss Jim Harbaugh's staff with your Los Angeles Chargers, is set to join the Bolts this week, per Aaron McMann of MLive.com.

Sources informed McMann that Minter was anticipated to join Los Angeles "by the end of the week," and he'll be the second Wolverines underling who will join Harbaugh at the pro level for the 2024 season.

McMann adds that Minter had been making a point to inform his Michigan players he intended to make the job. As of this writing, Los Angeles and Minter have yet to publicly declare the change is happening.

Assuming Jay Harbaugh, son of Jim, joins the latter on the Bolts' staff, new Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore will need to replenish all three of his coordinators heading into next year, a season removed from Michigan's College Football Playoff championship. Ex-Wolverines strength coach Ben Herbert has already joined Harbaugh in Los Angeles, too.

Minter led the Wolverines to two top-10 level defenses during his two seasons with the program. The club won Big Ten championships in both those years. Minter's defense was especially elite this past season, with its 10.4 points permitted slotting it in as the No. 1 scoring defense, and its 247 yards allowed also ranking as tops in the land.
