Chargers News: Vegas Oddsmakers Project Likeliest New Coach Candidates

There's a runaway favorite for the job.

Your Los Angeles Chargers' offseason is set up to be one for the ages, as the team is in need of a new head coach, general manager, and possess a top five NFL draft pick.

As news has begun to swirl about potential hires for both roles, betting have been launched for who the favorites are for the head coach opening.

Jim Harbaugh is head and shoulders ahead of other candidates as it pertains to odds, as the Bolts just completed their interview with him a few days ago.

The former Bolts quarterback, National Championship-winning coach, and NFC-winning coach, possesses the skillset to turn the Chargers franchise around, and has the first necessary piece: an elite quarterback in Justin Herbert.

DraftKings Sportsbook has an interesting line set up, offering users the ability to bet on Harbaugh's next landing spot.

It lists the Chargers as the heavy favorite (-225), with the next-most favored option being "not the HC of an NFL team," which implies he would return to Michigan, at +175.

The next NFL team is the Atlanta Falcons, who possess 6:1 odds of hiring him. While he interviewed there, the probability that they bring him in is low, as they've also interviewed Bill Belichick multiple times, and Harbaugh would have to turn the Bolts job down for Atlanta's, which doesn't make much sense from a practical standpoint.
