Fans should be getting excited as veteran cornerback JC Jackson is looking to return to the Chargers this season.

After signing a free agent deal with the Chargers in the 2021 offseason, there was a lot of hype surrounding the safety who was one of the best defensive players with the Patriots.

Members of the Chargers were hoping they were going to get the same Jackson that made eight interceptions and only gave up one touchdown in 2021.

Unfortunately, during the fifth game of the 2022 season, Jackson suffered a ruptured patella tendon in his knee, forcing him to miss the rest of the season.

Now that the Bolts are back for OTAs, Jackson told reporters that he is expecting to play this season.

According to The Athletic's Daniel Popper, Jackson has a checkup with his doctor coming up that will determine if he's ready for contact.

In Chargers minicamp, Jackson has been participating daily and even did some workouts with his helmet on the past couple days.

In the five games that Jackson played in last year, he didn't record any interceptions, but at the same time didn't give up any touchdowns.

Everyone in the Chargers organization is hoping that Jackson will return to his pre-injury self this season.
