Star WR Linked With Chargers Asks For Trade, Should Bolts Engage?
Entering the offseason, the Los Angeles Chargers have a lot of roster decisions to make. They need to add talent to this team after going through a disappointing 5-12 last season.
Bringing in new head coach Jim Harbaugh has created a certain buzz around the team, giving more positivity to work with. Other players around the league may be more willing to join the franchise now to play under Harbaugh, but the hard work starts now.
The Bolts have a need at the wide receiver position and they have been linked to drafting one potentially in the first-round. However, they have also been connected with a star wide receiver, who just asked to be traded from his current team.
That would be Tee Higgins from the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati put the franchise tag on Higgins weeks ago, but now the receiver is looking to be moved elsewhere after the two sides couldn't agree on a new deal.
Higgins would be a game-changer for the Chargers, giving them a true dynamic offensive weapon to work with. Playing alongside Keenan Allen, Higgins would create one of the better duos in the league.
He is already used to working with another star receiver from his time with the Bengals, so Higgins knows how to share the limelight. His size would compliment Allen well, and quarterback Justin Herbert would love throwing to him.
Higgins has the ability to make contested catches look easy and has gotten better each season he has been in the NFL. The Bolts would be wise to pick up the phone to see what it would take to land him if the Bengals are truly willing to move on.
