Colts-Titans to Be Called By Familiar Face

A former Indianapolis Colts quarterback will be the color commentator for the team's CBS broadcast in Week 13.

Matt Ryan will be back at an Indianapolis Colts game for the first time since the team released him during the offseason. He will be in the CBS broadcast booth.

Ryan will serve as one of the CBS color commentators for the Colts' visit to the Tennessee Titans in Week 13.

As he has been all season, Ryan will be paired with fellow analyst Tiki Barber and play-by-play announcer Andrew Catalon.

Ryan is in his first season as an announcer at CBS. Week 13 will mark the first time he covers a Colts matchup.

In Week 6, he announced his first Atlanta Falcons game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Ryan spent 14 seasons of his 15-year career with the Falcons. Ryan played his final season with the Colts in 2022.

Obviously, going back to Atlanta was probably more emotional for Ryan than announcing a Colts game. The Week 13 Indianapolis matchup is also on the road, so there won't be any Indy welcome for the former quarterback.

But having played for the team just last year, Ryan has first-hand experience with a lot of the members on the Colts roster. That always makes for interesting commentary.

The Colts releasing veteran defensive leader Shaquille Leonard a little more than a week ago could be a particularly interesting topic if Ryan addresses it during the broadcast.

Ryan posted a 4-7-1 record as Indianapolis' starting quarterback in 2022. But in all four of those victories, he recorded a game-winning drive.

Because of the tie, Ryan registered more fourth-quarter comebacks than actual wins in Indianapolis.

Ryan won 2016 NFL MVP with the Falcons. On the NFL's all-time passing list, Ryan ranks seventh in yards (62,792) and ninth in touchdowns (381).

He had 3,057 passing yards and 14 touchdowns with the Colts.
