No 'Key' to Stopping Commanders D-Line, Says Bills' Dion Dawkins

The Washington Commanders have the talent to bounce back from their Week 3 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The Washington Commanders are still licking their wounds after a 37-3 blowout loss at the hands of the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at FedEx Field, but there's reason for coach Ron Rivera's young squad to feel confident moving forward as they continue to learn how to win.

Though the Commanders are still a work in progress amid a 2-1 start, Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins doesn't think the same can be said for the Washington defensive line. Having lined up against them on Sunday at his left tackle spot, the always-outspoken Dawkins was honest in his assessment of

“I don’t think there is really a key," Dawkins said after the game. "I just think it comes down to winning your one-on-one. When it comes to guys like that, we came in knowing who they were and what they were capable of doing. We just knew that we had to outwork them, play harder, play just until the whistle blows and sometimes even past the whistle."

Washington's front of Chase Young, Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne and Montez Sweat was expected to be the difference in a potential upset over Buffalo.

But unfortunately for the Commanders, the Bills were ready for what was set to be thrown at them and Josh Allen. Buffalo's star quarterback faced little pressure on Sunday, as he took zero sacks while also going 20 of 32 passing for 218 yards, one touchdown and one interception while adding three carries for 46 yards and another score.

Though the Commanders' defense didn't have its best showing in Week 3, it's clear the rest of the league understands the challenges that come with facing a young and talented unit.

The Commanders will visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
