Commanders Criticism? Robert Griffin III Grades Adam Peters Free Agency

Robert Griffin III revealed his feelings toward Commanders general manager Adam Peters' free agency moves.

NFL free agency is in full swing, and new general manager Adam Peters has already made some significant moves for the Washington Commanders

After seeing some of the Commanders' latest transactions in free agency, former Washington quarterback turned sports commentator Robert Griffin III revealed his feelings toward Peters' moves so far.

“Absolutely LOVE how Adam Peters is cooking for the @Commanders this offseason. Improved O-Line play was ESSENTIAL, so he signed Pro Bowl Center Tyler Biadasz and a tough son of a biscuit eating bulldog in (Guard) Nick Allegretti. Then added TD maker Austin Ekeler. The build is on,” Griffin tweeted.

If anyone should know the importance of having a strong offensive line and run game, it's Peters, who came to Washington after spending years in the San Francisco 49ers front office with maulers in the trenches, such as former Commanders left tackle Trent Williams and superstar running back Christian McCaffrey.

This offseason is significant for Washington as the new regime of Peters and head coach Dan Quinn begin to establish a culture and identity for the future of the Commanders.

Another of Peters' potentially significant signings was bringing in quarterback Marcus Mariota. The former No. 2 overall pick is a backup quarterback at this point in his career, but as a veteran known for being a dual threat in his prime, one can't help but wonder if this indicates the team is targeting a young mobile starter for next season.

If Mariota is any indication of the type of quarterback that Peters would like under center next year, two quarterbacks who could fit that mold are LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, whom the team could draft with its No. 2 overall pick, or Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields, who is currently on the trade block.

For now, though, so far, so good for Peters, according to Griffin; time will tell if he can continue to build on his strong start throughout this offseason.
