Commanders Free Agency Target Jonah Jackson Signs with Rams

Detroit Lions guard Jonah Jackson could have been a candidate to sign with the Washington Commanders, but he instead joins the Los Angeles Rams.

One of the Washington Commanders' top free agency targets is off the board.

According to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, the Los Angeles Rams are signing Jonah Jackson to a three-year deal.

ESPN had picked Jackson as a target for the Commanders in free agency.

"Fitting into Kliff Kingsbury's offense in Washington, Jackson would immediately upgrade the left guard position," ESPN writes. He posted a 93.2% pass block win rate in Detroit last season. That's needed in D.C., as the Commanders allowed 65 sacks in 2023, tied for second most in the NFL."

While the Commanders were ultimately unable to sign Jackson, they were able to snag Tyler Biadasz from the Dallas Cowboys, adding to their offensive line.

Jackson loomed as a solid target for Kliff Kingsbury's offense and if the franchise wants to take a quarterback, spending a little bit extra on a quality lineman could prove to be good business.

But with Jackson off the board, the Commanders will now look elsewhere for more interior linemen.
