Washington Commanders' Sam Howell on Outside Noise: 'Everyone Knows The Business'

The Washington Commanders are reeling after the loss to the New York Giants, but quarterback Sam Howell says that it isn't hard to block out the outside noise.

The Washington Commanders have come under heavy fire for the 31-19 loss to the New York Giants, as six turnovers ultimately led to their demise.

Now, with plenty of talk surrounding the future of head coach Ron Rivera, the Commanders have a short week as they face the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

But with such a big game coming up, is it hard for young quarterback Sam Howell to block out all the noise around his organization?

“I don't think it's hard," Howell said. "I mean, obviously, everyone knows the business we're in, and at the end of the day, if you're not doing your job, things will happen. But us players, coaches, I don't think anyone's really worried about it. We're just trying to do everything we can on a daily basis, and the results are the results.

"We try to do everything we can in our power to control what we can control and make sure we come in here each and every day and put our all into this. I think everyone has throughout the year, and obviously, we've had some disappointing games, but nothing changes. We're going to come in here and give it our all every single day, and the results are what they are.”

Sitting at 4-7 and with their season in freefall both on and off the field, Washington will be on the national stage against a Cowboys team firing on all cylinders.

Dallas is on a streak of 12 consecutive wins at AT&T Stadium and will be hellbent on making it 13 when the Commanders visit.

After what they put on tape last week, it hasn't been the easiest week for Howell and the Commanders, but this is the NFL, and they get a shot at redemption on a short week.

They have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Washington has shown its ability to match it with the best in the NFL, and it will need to show it again.

But if the Commanders get their soul taken (as the Cowboys tend to do to road teams), that outside noise will be deafening, and their once-promising season will be in ruins.
