Dallas Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Fires Back At NFL Coach on Micah Parsons Criticism: 'Pathetic!'

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is going to bat for his superstar teammate.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is one of the best defensive players in the NFL today, as he's had at least 13 sacks in each of his three NFL seasons and finished in the top three of Defensive player of the Year voting in each season as well.

Even for all his accomplishments, though, it appears that some around the league still have their doubts about giving Parsons a lucrative, long-term contract.

On the Yahoo Fantasy Football Show, Jori Epstein, senior NFL reporter at Yahoo and formerly of the Dallas Morning News, claimed that an anonymous defensive coach had some harsh criticism for Parsons, namely in his performance in big moments.

"When the Cowboys are winning, Micah's a Hall of Fame player, when the Cowboys need him most, he's pretty average (...) Chris Jones takes off some plays but he makes them when they matter most. Micah isn't 100% in all plays but he kind of makes them when they matter least," Epstein claims the coach said.

It didn't take long for those comments to make waves over the Internet, and for Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs to catch wind of them. Diggs gave a passionate defense of his star teammate with a simple two-word reply: "Pathetic coach."

Parsons has had some quiet games throughout his career, and him having just one sack in four career playoff games will certainly be a talking point until he puts on a show in the postseason. Still, to say he's to blame for the Cowboys' struggles in big games is just foolish.

Either way, it's nice to see Diggs stick up for his teammate in the face of such criticism.
