'Damn Lie!' Dez Bryant Reacts to Jerry Jones' Dallas Cowboys Moves

Jerry Jones offered an optimistic outlook on the Dallas Cowboys' quiet offseason but Dez Bryant isn't buying it.

Jerry Jones' possible poker face isn't fooling one of his most prized pair of 8's.

Dez Bryant, part of the Dallas Cowboys' famed "88 Club," isn't buying the franchise owner/general manager's potentially misplaced faith in his offseason actions ... or lack thereof. Jones declared that he "(felt) as good any time going into the offseason as I can remember" at the NFL owners' meetings in Orlando but Bryant isn't swayed.

"That’s a damn lie," Bryant said on X, quoting a post of Jones' assessment from longtime Cowboys beat writer Clarence Hill Jr. The formerly starred receiver capped off his comments with a laughing emoji, clearly amused by Jones' assessment.

Dallas management promised an "all in" approach for the early spring after the team's latest postseason disappointment, a one-sided loss to the Green Bay Packers in January's Wild Card round. But one look at the transaction logs hins that Jones and Co. failed to deliver on that covenant: most marquee free agents are off the board and several incumbent mainstays have moved on, including an alarming exodus to the nation's capital to meet up with new head coach Dan Quinn.

The NFC East has also improved beyond Washington, as positive reviews have surrounded the respective happenings in New York and Philadelphia. With further questions centering around those left behind (i.e. embattled franchise quarterback Dak Prescott) most of Dallas' hope for change has now shifted to the upcoming NFL Draft in Detroit, where it owns seven choices, a slate that begins at 24th overall.
