Cowboys Free Agent Target? Bills' Jordan Poyer Wants Sunny, Tax-Free State

Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer is outlining landing spots in free agency. Are the Dallas Cowboys a fit?

Could the Dallas Cowboys pursue current Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer?

His wife, Rachel Bush, certainly expressed interest in living in Dallas back in November, telling a fan that she has made her desire to live in Texas known. But maybe even Poyer is warming up to that idea, as he expressed his want to live in a state that, among other things, doesn't have a high-income tax.

"I would love to go to a state that doesn't take half my money," Poyer said on his podcast. "It's crazy to me how taxes work. Some people will say, 'You're already making X amount of money.' Taxes play a big part in all of our lives. ..."

The 31-year-old took it a step beyond, drawing another potential connection to the Cowboys.

"If it wasn't Buffalo, it'd be nice to be warm," Poyer said. "It would be nice to see the sun, maybe, every week or so, every other week at least."

With no state income tax, a warm-weather state, and a place to see the sun, Dallas seems like a fit for Poyer and his family. ... though it does seem like he was sort of referencing the Miami Dolphins.

From an on-field perspective, the Cowboys want to keep Donovan Wilson. Wilson, the former sixth-round pick out of Texas A&M,who is set to hit unrestricted free agency during this offseason. And they already have Jayron Kearse and Malik Hooker under contract as safety.

All of that makes Jordan Poyer seem like a luxury in Dallas. But if he's looking for a "life of luxury''? Welcome to Texas!
