Asleep At The Star: 'All In' Cowboys Mind-Boggling Stat Shows The Quiet in Dallas

Despite Jerry Jones' previously stating he wanted to go "all-in," the Dallas Cowboys open as the least-active team in the NFL to start free agency.

Much to the frustration of Dallas Cowboys fans, the team has been alarmingly quiet to start the offseason.

In fact, the Cowboys made just one singular move since the legal tampering period began on Monday. ... until the Wednesday late-night agreement with linebacker Eric Kendricks.

The first move in question? Re-signing long snapper Trent Sieg to a one-year deal. Kendricks is also a one-year deal. ... and it breaks the ice in a notable way.

As of Wednesday evening, the Cowboys were actually the only team in the league to not yet sign an external free agent. That stat alone shows just how inactive and sleep-inducing Dallas had been this week.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were in this club as well, but broke out of it by bringing back safety Jordan Whitehead from the New York Jets earlier on Wednesday. Not to mention that the Buccaneers signed key free agents of their own like Mike Evans and Baker Mayfield, something the Cowboys have not done.

Every minute that passes without Dallas making a move, the fanbase seems to get more and more riled up. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hadn't pledged to go "all-in" earlier in the offseason, but he did, and his words are now coming back to bite him.

When there's reports stating that $4 million annually for running back Zack Moss was "past their comfort point," when the Cowboys need running back help after Tony Pollard's departure, it's hard to not feel like the fans were lied to.

Maybe Jones and the front office have something big brewing - would signing running back A.J. Dillon be "big''? - but as more of the top free agents come off the board, it's hard to see something notable happening. ... as Cowboys Nation struggles to stay awake as Dallas naps.
