ARLINGTON - The Dallas Cowboys welcomed the New York Jets to AT&T Stadium on Sunday, and it wasn't to be the matchup everyone was hoping for. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is out for the season after tearing his Achilles tendon in the fourth play of the season in Week 1.

Nevertheless, the Cowboys accomplished everything they were hoping for in a dominant 30-10 victory to move to 2-0.

Said CeeDee Lamb, who had 11 catches in the win: “We’re here to dominate. We’re not here to mess around.”

Here's how it all came down, in chronological order ...

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy won't be able to face his former signal caller, and quarterback Dak Prescott will miss a meeting against his former NFC rival.

“Obviously I wanted to play against the guy,” said Prescott, who lost a Wild Card game against Rodgers and the Packers as a rookie in 2016.

“But to say it diminishes an NFL game would be wild of me, especially understanding how great this defense is,” said Prescott who has dealt with his own season-ending injury. “Watch the way that they won that game the other night. They’ve got our respect and haven’t lost any bit of that.”

The Cowboys and the Jets both opened their seasons last week at MetLife Stadium. Dallas obliterated the New York Giants in a 40-0 win, while the Jets recovered from Rodgers' injury to beat the Buffalo Bills in overtime behind backup and former No. 2 overall pick, Zach Wilson.

The Jets are looking for the organization's first 2-0 start in eight seasons, while Dallas hopes to keep pace with the 2-0 Philadelphia Eagles, who beat the Vikings on Thursday night.

There will be plenty of focus on the defense for both teams, as the Jets sacked Bills' quarterback Josh Allen five times, and the Cowboys got to Daniel Jones for seven sacks last week. Both defenses combined for 21 quarterback hits and 57 pressures.

That especially matters to Dallas in terms of O-line health, as Zack Martin (groin) indicates he’s “feeling good” while team owner Jerry Jones is hinting that Tyler Smith is all but ruled out.

Jones said on @1053thefan that Smith (hamstring) is “questionable and hasn’t gotten the work that you’d normally think for him to play. … he’s probably the least likely to be active Sunday.”

Dallas wideout Brandin Cooks is also ruled out for the game.

Live updates will appear here after kickoff...

The Jets win the toss and defer possession until the second half.
